Offshore scaffolding
Aluminum scaffolding for offshore oil, gas and wind energy applications
In the offshore industry, where projects take place far from the coast and under the harshest environmental conditions, safety, sustainability and efficiency are crucial. Holland Scaffold Supply (HSS) provides high-performance aluminum scaffolding systems specifically engineered for use on offshore oil & gas platforms and substations at sea.
Designed for the most extreme conditions.
At offshore locations, equipment is exposed to extreme conditions: high salt concentrations, moisture, wind loads and freezing temperatures. Unlike conventional steel, which requires intensive corrosion protection and regular maintenance, aluminum offers inherent corrosion resistance. This makes it extremely suitable for marine and offshore environments where exposure to salt water is continuous and unavoidable.
Our scaffolding tubes and couplers are designed and tested to perform in compliance with EN 12811-2 and EN 74 Class B, ensuring structural integrity and operator safety in all weather conditions. Each component is either anodized or naturally passivated to resist oxidation and maintain strength even after years of exposure to sea air and spray.
Lightweight and efficient in remote operations
Working at sea means that every kilogram counts. All materials, tools and scaffolding components must be transported by ship and processed manually upon arrival. HSS aluminum scaffolding offers a weight reduction of approx. 60% compared to steel, significantly improving logistics, reducing installation time, and minimizing physical strain on personnel.
This lightweight advantage is especially valuable during assembly and dismantling operations on confined or elevated structures such as turbine towers, transformer substations, and flare stacks, where space and handling options are limited.
Superior performance in sub-zero and arctic conditions.
HSS aluminum scaffolding systems have been deployed successfully in sub-zero and arctic environments, where temperatures can drop well below freezing. At these temperatures, aluminum becomes stronger, while steel tends to become brittle and lose its ductility; a critical factor in applications where safety and material reliability cannot be compromised.
This makes aluminium the obvious choice for offshore maintenance and construction in cold climate zones, including the North Sea, the Bering Sea, the Baltic Sea and offshore installations in the Arctic region.
Safety, reliability and proven offshore experience
Every Holland Scaffold Supply product is engineered with offshore safety in mind. From the high mechanical strength of our extruded aluminum tubes (EN-AW 6061 T6/ 6082 T6) to the precision-machined couplers that ensure secure and vibration-resistant connections. Our systems deliver exceptional strength-to-weight ratios, superior corrosion performance, and long-term operational reliability.
By combining superb quality from Holland with practical offshore experience, HSS enables safer, faster, and more efficient access solutions for complex offshore operations; from oil and gas platforms to offshore wind substations.
